Having practiced law for over 40 years, Richard Umbenhauer has a broad range of experience in business, real estate and insolvency law.
He is a former member of the Pennsylvania Bar and is currently admitted to practice in California. Mr. Umbenhauer is also a licensed California real estate broker.
Prior to joining Roemer & Harnik LLP, Mr. Umbenhauer was general counsel and chief operating officer for a national real estate franchise company, and also served as in-house counsel for a real estate development company. As a senior partner at Nikolas, Hohenadel and Umbenhauer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he was one of the managers of that firm’s title insurance agency and was a licensed title insurance agent. His California practice has included mergers and acquisitions, formation of condominiums and other planned developments, commercial leasing and formation, merger and management of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.
Mr. Umbenhauer was also a Trustee in Bankruptcy for more than 13 years and has also served as a court-appointed receiver for the purpose of managing and liquidating failing businesses.
